  • It is used to reduce process foam in production, refineries, and gas processing plants.
  • Effective at very low dosages (20–200 ppm) for controlling foam in non-aqueous systems.
  • Insoluble in crude oil but highly soluble in solvents like toluene, xylene, diesel, or naphtha, allowing for easy injection into process streams.
• Equipment Lubrication:
  • Serves as a durable lubricant for valves, O-rings, seals, and gaskets due to its high film strength and resistance to shear.
  • Maintains consistent viscosity across a wide temperature range (-50°C to 200°C), essential for machinery operating in extreme outdoor or high-heat environments.
• Mechanical and Hydraulic Fluids:
  • Utilized in flow control instruments, pressure sensors, and gauges to provide damping and ensure accurate readings under vibration or high pressure.
  • Acts as a hydraulic fluid in specialized systems requiring fire resistance and thermal stability.
• Corrosion and Surface Protection:
  • Applied as a water-repellent coating to protect metal surfaces and equipment from rust and moisture ingress.

• Viscosity: 12,500 cSt (centistokes) or CPS at 25°C.
• Thermal Stability: Operates reliably from -50°C to +200°C (or higher in some formulations).
• Chemical Inertness: Resistant to oxidation, dilute acids, and bases.
• Safety: Generally non-toxic and non-hazardous, often available in NSF H1 food-grade versions for sensitive environments.
